Private Cloud Solutions that Align with Your Business
Joyent provides a comprehensive approach to cloud computing, so that you can harness the full power of the cloud on your terms. Whether your business is hosted on the Joyent Cloud, through a service provider or in your own datacenter - public, private or custom – you have the flexibility and control to use the cloud on your terms.
Customers with special security concerns or a need to segment a network in a private cloud can now utilize two private cloud options from Joyent:
OPTION 1: Joyent Virtual Private Cloud
Joyent customers can be segmented into private networks on enclosed VLANs for control over the internal network and IPs within our high-availability high-security Tier 4 datacenters. Located in five locations in North America, Joyent virtual private clouds allow customers to assemble virtual infrastructure in physical pods. Common configurations include clustered Zeus appliances for global traffic shaping and load balancing, NOSQL database on distributed Riak nodes and high performance Percona databases. Private networks use the same 40 Gbps switch fabric and 10 Gbps connect to leverage the power of the entire datacenter. In addition, private clouds can be customized with customer-provided single or redundant pair of VPN Gateway devices. For additional customization, please refer to the Joyent Custom Cloud solutions.
OPTION 2: Build Your Own Private Cloud
Joyent customers can license the SmartDataCenter cloud operating system to build their own hosted private cloud. The same software that powers Joyent’s Public Cloud is available to power yours. SmartDataCenter is optimized for fast deployment, with a delivery architecture that gives customers and end-users the flexibility and control they need to harness the full power of the cloud.
Customers have the option to build and host their own SmartDataCenter cloud or request a hosted installation with Joyent. As a founding member of the SwitchNap InterCloud Exchange, Joyent can build, install, host and support a dedicated cloud, located at the SwitchNap facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
What Is a Private Cloud?
Private clouds refer to the implementation of a cloud solution/services on infrastructure resources that are dedicated to your organization, whether they exist on-premises in your own data center or virtually in some-one else’s off-premises facilities. With a private cloud, you get many of the benefits of public cloud computing—including self-service, scalability, and elasticity—with the additional control and customization available from dedicated resources.
Joyent Solution for PaaS in a Private Cloud
Whether you choose a public or private cloud solution, you can also leverage Joyent cloud solutions for Node.js™ and the No.de platform to build your own turnkey PaaS platform that leverages the future in event-driven, data-intensive real-time applications.
